The Story...this image was taken in October 2019. This is a familiar scene in rural Kentucky this time of year; land that has been signed over (contracted) to the USDA for its conservation reserve program (CRP). It is a voluntary program that contracts with agricultural producers so that environmentally sensitive agricultural land is not farmed or ranched, but instead devoted to conservation benefits. Nature soon takes over again, and produces colorful fields in the Fall.

About the photographer. Full time woodworker here, but when the weekend rolls around I head out somewhere in Kentucky looking for photographic opportunities. My main interests are in landscape, nature, architectural...but... pretty much anything that catches my attention will stop me in my tracks!
